Today I’m going to let you in on a little secret…it’s not hard to get and stay fit. It’s not about hard work and deprivation.
It’s all about boundaries. Let me explain…
When you were a child your parents set boundaries around you. They were the authority on what was or wasn’t acceptable behavior. You had to complete your chores before
dinner. You had to finish your homework before going out to play. You had to eat all your vegetables before dessert.
If you failed to comply with these boundaries then you knew that there would be consequences.
As an adult you, and only you, are the authority on what is or isn’t acceptable behavior. You are in the position to set boundaries around yourself. These boundaries serve as a
framework of order around you – a rock of support in an otherwise chaotic world.
With self-imposed boundaries you can assure your success in anything…specifically with weight loss.
Your fitness boundaries have to be self-imposed—no one is going to do it for you. Don’t look at this as a bad thing! Self-imposed boundaries are self-empowering. Let’s face it,
you’ve been living life without fitness boundaries.
You eat whatever you want, whenever you want it.
You use any excuse to avoid exercise.
You indulge whenever it feels good.
Your Fitness Boundaries
It’s time to introduce boundaries back into your life. These boundaries are the key to unleashing your ideal fit and healthy body.
Fitness Boundary #1: What you eat
If you were to be perfectly honest with me, you could list off the foods that are unhealthy and fattening. So why are you still eating them? You know that refined, fried, processed and
sugary foods are not good for you.
Place boundaries around what you will allow yourself to eat. Acceptable food items include whole foods, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean meats.
Fitness Boundary #2: How you exercise
I know that you’re not an Olympic athlete, but that doesn’t mean that you can simply pass on exercise. By now you are well aware of the host of benefits that exercise provides. With
regular exercise you’ll look great, feel amazing and have more energy than ever.
Place boundaries around how often you must exercise. Choose exercise that is challenging and fun – don’t be afraid to try new activities that improve your strength and endurance.
Fitness Boundary #3: When you indulge
Let’s face it, we live in a world where indulging has become the norm, rather than the exception. When you live life without fitness boundaries, everyday is an opportunity to indulge.
These indulgences all add up quickly, causing your clothes to become tight and your energy levels to drop.
Place boundaries around when you can indulge. You’ll find that by limiting your indulgences you’ll end up enjoying them even more.
Putting It In Action
Sit down and take a long, hard look at your lifestyle. Are you eating as healthy as you could be? Are you exercising 3-5 times each week? Are you indulging too often?
Answer the following questions:
What 3 food items can I eliminate from my daily diet? (These should be nutritionally void items like high-calories beverages, fast food, packaged snacks, high-fat food, candy or
When can I schedule exercise into my week? (Pick 3-5 days, and select a specific timeframe. Example: I’m going to exercise on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 5am-6am.)
When will I allow myself to indulge? (Don’t go overboard here, especially if you need to lose weight. Enjoy a treat a couple times each month, and do so guilt-free knowing that you’
ve maintained healthy food boundaries the rest of the time.
Remember that self-imposed boundaries are self-empowering.
Fitness boundaries put your fitness results on autopilot. If you know what constitutes an acceptable meal, then choosing what to eat just got a whole lot easier. If you’re committed to
exercising 3 times a week, soon it becomes second nature.

You want to be fit. You know how much you should weigh. You know your ideal pant size. You can even picture how great those skinny jeans will look.
So why aren't you living life in your ideal body?
There are many complex reasons that make weight loss a challenge, reasons that go deeper than simply calories-in versus calories-out.
I'm talking about the life issues that get in the way of your success.
Read the following 5 obstacles and the solutions to unlock your best body ever.
1. You don't want to be bothered.
It's in your DNA to avoid pain and seek out pleasure. Unfortunately this works against you when trying to get fit. In your mind, it's painful (or at least uncomfortable) to deny yourself
the tasty food that you crave and to exert yourself with exercise.
There's a simple way to work around this obstacle: Find something painful about being fat to motivate yourself towards healthy eating and exercise. Focus on the negative impact
your current weight has on your health, self-esteem and lifestyle. Convince yourself that the pain of being out of shape is much greater than the discomfort of losing weight.
2. You don't want to wait for the good stuff.
Just as you wish to avoid pain, you are also an expert in seeking out pleasure - namely food. This served the cavemen well, but these days it ends up as extra pounds around your
waist and thighs.
There's good news: extra calories are not your only option to stimulate the pleasure center of your brain. Find an activity or two that make you smile and indulge in those regularly.
•A walk outside
•A good book
•A night out to the movies or theater
•A spa day
You can also retrain your brain to crave the pleasure of exercise-induced endorphins. Talk about weight gain kryptonite!
3. You are crazy busy.
Let's face it, you work too much, commit yourself to too much and don't even get enough sleep most of the time. The fast-paced way you live leaves you exhausted, stressed and
hungry for comfort food. You even begin to feel too busy to take care of your health.
It's time to reprioritize. Let go of your perfectionist standards and remove a few commitments from your schedule so that you are able to cook healthy meals, exercise and get a
good night's sleep. Remind yourself that taking care of your health is not a luxury - it's a necessity.
4. You don't deserve it.
I don't agree with it, but you sure act like you don't deserve to live the good life in the body of your dreams. Take a moment to think back on all the times you have self-sabotaged
your weight loss efforts. If you don't believe deep down that you are worthy then you'll never give yourself a chance at a fit body.
I believe that you deserve to have a healthy body - and I urge you to dig deep down to uncover why you don't. Once you conquer your feelings of unworthiness, getting on an
exercise and healthy eating plan will be easy.
Take the time to take care of yourself. You DO deserve it.
5. You are afraid.
You're afraid to start because you just might fail, and wouldn't that be embarrassing? You're also afraid to start because you just might succeed, and change makes you
uncomfortable – even if it's change in the right direction.

Take a walk through any gym, and you'll notice many mistakes. Mistakes that waste time. Mistakes that put people in danger. And mistakes that are just plain stupid. Maybe you
even make a few of these mistakes yourself.
By avoiding these common blunders, you'll put yourself on the fast track to results. Check out the following 5 fitness mistakes and the solutions you need to avoid danger and to get
Mistake 1: You use the wrong weight
The goal is to challenge your muscles, not to simply go through the motions. If you are able to complete 15 repetitions easily, then the weight is too light. On the flip side, if you aren't
able to perform an exercise through its full range of motion, and find yourself cheating on form, then the weight is too heavy.
The correct weights will feel challenging by your last few repetitions, but won't force you to sacrifice form.
Mistake 2: You do the same routine
You may have noticed that most people do the same exercises each time they visit the gym. Maybe you've been doing the same exercise routine as long as you can remember - if
it isn't broken then don't fix it, right?
The truth is that exercise routines have expiration dates, and that is the date that they begin to lose their effectiveness. As a rule of thumb never use the same routine for more than
Mistake 3: You don't warm up
Most people consider warm up time to be wasted time - they'd rather jump right into the heart of the routine. What they don't realize is that a good warm up will allow you to perform
at a higher intensity, which means greater results.
The point of a warm up is to increase your muscle temperature. This increases blood flow, muscle contraction and reduces muscle resistance. Your warm up should last 5-10
Mistake 4: You use bad form
Gyms are filled with people performing exercises with bad form. The two biggest reasons are that you aren't concentrating on the exercise, or you're trying to lift weight that is too
heavy. Lifting with improper form almost always results in injury.
Take the time to achieve proper form, by doing so you'll avoid injury and will reap the full benefit from each exercise.
Mistake 5: You workout alone
People who exercise alone are less challenged, less accountable and typically see fewer results. It makes sense, doesn't it? Why rush to the gym if no one is there waiting for you?
Why push yourself if no one is watching? Exercising alone is a recipe for disaster.

Train Like a Warrior, Train Like a Fighter
You don't need to be a Marine, or a professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighter, in order to train like one. It's pretty much fact, that Marines and MMA fighters, are some of the most strong,
conditioned, and disciplined, warriors/ athletes in the world.
The Marine needs to be physically strong, mentally tough, conditioned for days, and as disciplined as humanly possible. The extreme conditions in which they train, are as demanding as possible,
to prepare for whatever challenges the world throws at them. The MMA fighter, knows that a cage door will soon close behind him, and he will be alone in a cage, with an adversary whose only
goal is to take him out. The amount of physical preparation (strength and conditioning, sparring, wrestling, boxing, BJJ, cardio training), is unmatched in the world of sports.
Individuals from all walks of life, (Housewives, weekend warriors, high school athletes, college athletes, proffessional athletes, working moms, businessmen, older adults), can all benefit, and learn
some take home points from these extreme training warriors. The level of physical fitness, the dedication to training, the discipline to tranform their body, the healthy diets, the mental focus, the
bravery, the unbreakable human spirit, can be attributes that any human can possess.
Now everyone doesn't need to be punched in the face, or dodge bullets, but they can lift heavy weights, increase strength endurance, run sprints, master bodyweight training, jump higher, run
faster, improve balance, coordination, reflexes, and overall speed. With the speedbumps that life throws at us, each and every day, it is all about being mentally and physically prepared, for
whatever the combat is, that makes up the existence of your daily regimen. And maybe you can learn some self defense, and ways to kick some ass, along the way.
Here at Peak Physique Personal Training Center, in Rockland County, we train everyone who walks through the door, to be prepared for whatever obstacles life may throw at them. we all are on
an intense training program, yet everyone is at their own pace, doing what works for them. Everyone is different, to the training approach may be different from person to person, but in the end,

The NYC metal worker- He was on a scaffold in New York City, working on a building, on the 19th floor, when some equipment malfunctioned, and he slid down the side. He was able to grab and
hold on to the edge of the scaffold, with one hand, preventing him from plummeting to his death. He specifically said, if it weren't for the real world strength and conditioning training at Peak

Free Boxing Classes / Boot Camp Class every week
Last night we had another successful Free Boxing class, here at Peak Physique Personal Training Center. Now going, 2 and a half years strong, every Thursday night at 615pm. This is a full,
one hour, intense workout, group fitness training class. I'm not talking about a watered down, trial/ teaser fitness workout, it is a full, professionall run, boxing training class.
Boxing workouts are a great way to exercise if you are looking to lose weight, transform your body, build six pack abs, get in shape, tone your arms, or basically any other fitness goal. We teach
proper boxing technique, learning how to throw punches correctly, kick with technique, boxing footwork, boxing combinations, and all aspects of boxing training. Whether just looking for a great,
intense workout, or a amateur or professional boxer, you can benefit from our FREE Boxing class.
Boxing is also a great way to build self confidence, and actually is a great form of figting and self defense. Boxing and Kickboxing, is an effective workout, No matter what your age, fitness for

Here are 2 versions of the round by round fight review, from Rashid's MMA fight this weekend.
Smash Evans Vs. Erik Gendron
New Jersey’s Evans is a very jacked big man.
Crazy action to begin the bout. Fights clinch against the cage. They reset and trade strikes. Evans gets the takedown and strikes from 1/2 guard. Erik looks for the triangle from his back. Close
N.E.MMA NEWS scores it for Evans.
Erik gets the takedown this time and strikes from half-guard. He moves to full mount. Evans uses pure muscle to get to top position and puts Erik on his back again. Gendron immidiately looks to
remain active off his back, looking for submissions.

Evans lands a big shot and rocks Gendron. Erik gets a takedown, and moves to mount against the cage. Referee makes an odd decision to stand the fighters, even though Gendron is in a
dominate, finish position.

Fight 5: HW Smash Evans Vs. Erik Gendron(Wai Kru)
Evans comes out to Puff Daddy and the Family-Victory and Erik comes out to David Bowie-Let's Dance. Smash gets the takedown but Erik sweeps and gets in some ground and pound.
They both stand and Smash is working a takedown up against the cage. Erik pushes him off and they are back standing. Erik misses with a leg kick and Evans gets the single leg
takedown. Evans is working the guard but Erik looks very comfortable on the bottom. Erik is working a triangle but its very hard to get your leg around Evans back.
Rd 2: Erik goes for a takedown and picks him up but Smash defends well. Erik eventually gets it and is now on top in full mount. Evans sweeps and is now on top in the guard. Erik is
twisting trying to get out but Evans punches him back down.
Rd 3: They are standing and banging now. Evans gets in a good right hand is is working a guillotine in the sprawl position. Both fighters look exhausted. Erik gets the takedown and is
on top on full mount. The ref stands them up after 20 seconds of nothing going on. Great decision ref!! Evans gets in a nice combo to the head. Erik works the single leg but the round
Erik Gendron defeats Rashid Smash Evans via unanimous decision. The rounds were really close but I had it going the other way but congrats to Erik!

Lose Weight/ Gain Weight
In reality, it is not really very difficult to lose weight, or gain weight for that matter, if that is your fitness goal. It is really just based on numbers, calories in/ calories out, expending more than you
ingest, counting calories, nutrient breakdown, etc.... So something so simple, can in reality, become extremely difficult.
So if you follow the strict guidelines, it is very simple to lose (or gain), weight. It is obviously not so easy for some people to follow simple rules when it comes to dieting and nutrition. We know that
proper diet/ nutrition, is more than half the battle, when it comes to our weight loss goals. You cant out train a bad diet. I will repeat it, You Cant Out Train a Bad Diet. This means no matter how
hard you are running on the treadmill, no matter how long you stay on those cardio machines, no matter how much weight training you are doing, no matter how many group exercise classes you
are taking, if you are not eating properly, you will not reach your weight loss goals.
This holds true for weight gain, and building muscle as well. If you arent fueling the machine with the right fuel, you will not get the right results. Abs are built in the kitchen, not the gym.
OK, I said this was supposed to simple, this is all getting very complicated, with so much to think about. One simple sentence can simplify it all, and make the battle so much easier.
If you are trying to lose weight, you should never be full, and if you are trying to gain weight, you should never be hungry.
With this SIMPLE statement, you are well on your way to your goals in the kitchen. Mix this with some DISCIPLINE, and some common sense, and weight loss really is simple. Common sense
means, you actually know what you are eating is bad, but you eat it anyway. You know its bad, put it down, pick a better choice. Common Sense.

Its amazing how I was still able to eat with proper nutrition, even when traveling overseas. No matter where you travel, there is no excuse for poor eating habits. There are always healthy food
choices, no matter where you travel, i if there isnt, prepare ahead of time. Of course I ate in many restaurants, but there are always healthy options.
I never missed a meal, was never hungry, and never dehydrated. I always ingested enough protein to maintain, and even build lean muscle. I was always well fueled for every grueling training
session in the gym.
Preparation is the key to success, no matter what the situation. Herbalife nutritional supplements, of course, was the secret to my success, and survival. I had my cookies and cream healthy
meal, with personalized protein powder, as my small meal replacements. I was always fueled and hydrated with my Herbalife 24 Hydrate, and H30. My in between meal snacks were either the
protein beverage mix, or the protein bars. My energy levels were always elevated, especially during my grueling workouts, with Liftoff. Less than 5 pounds added to my luggage, and I was

Warrior Weekend with Smash Evans
What an amazing weekend of fights, including MMA, Boxing, Jiu jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, grappling, and submission fighting. There were tons of punches, crazy kicks, takedowns, submissions,
knockouts, and Tapouts. When it comes to fighting, all disciplines and styles were on display throughout the weekend.
Peak Physique/ AFS trained Fighter, Rashid Evans, Fought in a Boxing match on Sat night, then a pro rules MMA fight on Sunday, about 18 hours later.
Friday night the Boxing contest was declared a draw, after 3 intense rounds of pugilistic combat. Both fighters were trading bombs at an exhausting pace, for the duration of the 3 round contest.
Both fighters were exhausted, but neither would crumble under the pressure, after both warriors were giving just a many punches as they were taking. After the judges couldnt declare a clear
winner after 3 rounds of Boxing, they offered each fighter the chance to fight one more minute to declare a clear cut winner. Rashid, exhausted at this point, put his boxing gloves back on,
mouthpiece back in, and put his hands up. His opponent, declined the offer for 1 extra minute of Boxing with Smash, as he was content with the draw, and it was declared as such.
Saturday afternoon was the professional rules MMA fight, where Rashid displayed his ever evolving ground game, en route to a TKO victory, via Tapout due to strikes. He actually made a slick
submission attempt for a rear naked choke, and showed adversity from the bottom position, with an improving defensive guard. Once free, he was too much to handle, with ferocious ground and
pound, until his tough and game opponent was forced to tap, to avoid any further punishment.
Not too many fighters are willing to fight at all, let alone twice in 2 days, in two different states, in two different fighting disciplines.
This was made possible from intense Strength and Conditioning training at Peak Physique training center, in Spring Valley, NY, as well as all the fight training with Head trainer Phil Dunlap, at
Advanced Fighting Systems, in Mahwah, NJ.
Rashid's was involved in a strict and intense, MMA and Boxing, strength and conditioning program, focusing on muscular endurance, cardio, explosiveness, speed and agility, as well as many
other training techniques. Battling ropes, kettlebells, weightlifting circuit training, interval training, pushing sleds, bodyweight training, cardio circuits, speed, agility, balance, and flexibility, all
pieces to the puzzle. Dedication, Discipline, Desire...the key attributes to become a more complete fighter, on his quest to improve and grow, on his quest for greatness in the fighting world.

There are no excuses for not working out. We are overseas in Poland, and had no access to a gym today, so we worked out in the hallway of the apartment building we were staying in. We are
staying on the ninth floor, so running hundreds of flights of stairs, thats a built in cardio machine, better than any treadmill or eliptical machine you might jump on and spin around in circles like a
My travel exercise equipment included a TRX (Bodyweight suspension training system), and a set of Heavy Duty resistance bands. Thats all we needed, along with bodyweight, 10 flights of stairs,
a little motivation and imagination. Workout consisted of Pushups, pullups, TRX rows, trx single leg squats, TRX single leg reverse jumping Lunges, TRX knee tucks, pushups, pike ups, Band
chest press, rows, pullovers, biceps, triceps, Staircase sprints, Circuit runs, and laps of carrying heavy objects.
All together the training session took maybe 45 minutes, and used minimal equipment. I still stick to my old saying "You can get a complete total body workout in an empty elevator", and we pretty
much proved that. We added some fitness training photos on the site and Facebook.
